Feminine Power Time: We Have More Power Than We Realize: Actively Creating the Next Cycle for Ourselves & Our World, On Purpose
“Our presence is our power. Our life force is our power. Our choices are our power. How can we choose to use this power, on purpose, to shape the next cycle of our lives, those we love & lead, and our world?”
There are multiple ways to meet the time we are living in: we can submit to it, rage against it, resist it, fall into despair about it –
OR we can choose to actively direct our power and presence, on purpose, to shape what comes next. For ourselves, for the people we influence, and for the ecosystems we can influence.
In this episode (adding to the Illuminating Genuine Power Series) I invited my dear friend Tracy Layney – former Chief People officer, and always wise woman and pioneering leader who has spent two decades centering humanity inside organizations, shaping a better way to work and do business.
We reconnected about 2 years ago (after a decade plus gap) … and after many juicy conversations realized we had a centerpoint that we’ve both carried in our work for 20 years.
Today we are inviting you into the conversation around this centerpoint to explore with us.
Consider this:
If we have more power than we realize (which we do)… then what does that mean, practically?
And how can this guide us individually & collectively for where we are, how we move forward in the short term, and what we are choosing to create next for the longer story we are living out?
What is the story you are living out now? What is the story you choose to live into being – for yourself and the world – forward?
Where does your power sit, and where might you be giving it away?
Why this matters now: We’ve noticed there’s many of us who are in the midst of completing cycles and beginning new ones. We are being called to really look at what we will give our energy, care & mindshare (power) and time, experience & money (resources) to next. Feeling stretched to evolve in way that beckon us out of comfort zones and into the parts we are meant to play now and next.
Some of What We will explore:
- Choosing the Story We Live Into Reality, Individually & Collectively – moving from victim, bystander or reactor -> into conscious co-creator of our own lives and the systems & society we live, love and lead in
- Cyclical vs. Linear Time / Tech Time vs. Human Time – how attuning to natural cycles and turnings changes everything about how we direct our power
- Presence as Power – what it means to bring our genuine selves, unique gifts, and full life force into the world, as a real-time, intentional practice
- Designing from Well-Being, as Harmonic Defiance & System Disruption – what becomes possible when we put well-being at the center of our choices for this next cycle, not the afterthought?
Some of the Wisdom That Emerged:
- Meaningful work in all kinds of forms is essential to the human experience. No matter what time we are living in, we are still responsible for – and have the privilege of – creating our own lives. It’s challenging, but it’s the only way to evolve
- Learnings from Dolly. Power comes from being genuinely ourselves – living our design, giving our gifts, staying rooted in humility and kindness, and raising others’ voices. If we each do this in our small parts of the world, that’s more than enough.
- Create from momentum, what you value, and the belief that your presence is your power. It not just what we do, but who we are and how we show up – our energy, essence, frequency matter. We get to create from next from the experience, relationships and the life we’ve already built. This time we are wiser, so let’s be clear on what we value and what we intend to create.
