CREATE CONNECTION, CLARITY & FOCUS FOR YOUR PEOPLE
So they can do their best work, stay aligned,
and achieve sustainable success, without burning out.
So they can do their best work, stay aligned, and achieve sustainable success, without burning out.
In today’s always-on culture, teams and professionals move from one project to the next without pausing to reflect, celebrate, or realign. The constant push keeps things moving — but often at the cost of focus, energy, connection and wellbeing.
Power Pauses offer a different way to plan, lead, and achieve meaningful results — in ways that align with how humans work and thrive best. They create intentional space in the rhythm of work — space to breathe, reflect, and acknowledge what’s working, what’s changing, and how far you’ve come.
Each Power Pause also opens the creative and conversational space to think strategically — to decide where to put time, energy, and attention so that effort moves real progress forward. The focus shifts from being busy to being effective, from reacting to intentionally influencing what matters most.
From that grounded place of clarity, people can see and feel their progress, make smarter choices, and move forward with renewed confidence, alignment, and momentum.

The
Power Pause
System
Power Pause
System
Strategic Power Pauses are visually facilitated, co-creative sessions that help teams, groups, and individuals reflect, realign, and refocus.
Held virtually or in person — they create a consistent rhythm for strategic thinking and prioritization that blends creativity with productivity, intuition with intellect, and focus with flexibility to bring greater clarity and alignment to what matters most.
Whether you’re working with a team or a professional group, Power Pauses can be facilitated as one-time sessions, added to existing meetings or events, or woven together as a recurring rhythm — quarterly, biannually, or annually — to create a consistent structure for your people to pause, reflect, reset, and refocus together.

Different Ways We Can Work with You
You can do a stand-alone session or add a Power Pause to an existing event or team session.
We work with teams and groups of different sizes, from smaller leadership teams to larger functional teams to special affinity groups across your organization.
We also work with teams to develop a ‘cyclical’ planning & prioritizing
calendar’ with 2-3 Power Pauses a year that over time creates a cadence &
rhythm, a stabilizing consistency and a common purpose teams make progress
on over time.
We’ve been facilitating these as interactive experiences both online and in-person for over a decade using a variety of technology, visual thinking and printed/digital materials. We can modify the approach based on your group’s needs and learning styles.
We also train managers and team leads to facilitate power pauses for their teams as leadership growth opportunity and a way to establish a culture of team excellence, sustainability & retention.

“Catalyzed Us into a Much Stronger Team
The Power Pause workshops turned my skeptical accounting team into an actual team: by cataloging everything we’d survived and achieved, people dropped their defenses, saw each other’s load, and began working as one instead of a herd of exhausted individuals.”
SVP, Chief Accounting Officer

“Empowers Us to Pivot and Break Things Down to Doable Actions, Even in Uncertainity
Doing Power Pauses twice a year gets us aligned to our common goals, gives us energy and makes us feel empowered, even in unstable and uncertain times, because we have created a plan for the now, that’s also connected to our longer team vision. We know what to do, how to do it, and that we are in it together.”
Team Lead, Director of Talent Acquistion

Power Pauses work beautifully as one-time, annual, or biannual value-add experiences for groups that grow and learn together, support each other or work together including: professional or purpose-driven associations, networks, affinity groups, and communities — as well as for internal groups within workplaces and organizations such as ERGs, leadership programs, cross-functional teams that collaborate, and overall employee populations.
Each Power Pause creates a shared experience of reflection, connection, and forward focus. Individual participants step back to acknowledge how far they’ve come and, from that grounded place of awareness and appreciation, look ahead to what they want to shift, where to focus, and how to move forward with greater clarity and purpose.
The Benefits of Pausing for Individual Participants
- Prevent burnout & overwhelm by creating space to pause and reset.
- Celebrate progress & impact — actually feel the success of effort given.
- Acknowledge challenges honestly & identify support needed to move forward.
- Gain clarity on how to focus energy, time, mindshare, & resources — where they matter most.
- Break larger goals, projects & aspirations into smaller cycles — to prioritize what’s needed now & reflow what can come later.
- Create sense of stability & groundedness in times of uncertainty and change.

Different Ways We Can Work with Your Group
There are many ways to create a meaningful Power Pause experience — whether you’re closing out a year, beginning a new one, or simply sensing your people need to pause and reset.
Here are a few ideas to inspire what’s possible:
- Year-End Power Pause – Reflect on the year as a group: acknowledge successes, challenges, and learnings; witness and celebrate one another; and leave inspired and renewed for what’s next.
- Year-Start Power Pause – Set clear and inspired intentions for the cycle ahead — personally and professionally — to begin the year with focus, energy, and alignment.
- March or September Power Pause – Pause mid-cycle to address overwhelm and unsustainable pace. Reset for balance and sustainable success and wellbeing, recommitting to professional and personal goals, desires and needs.

“Your Mid-Year Power Pause is the session I’ve got the most out of all year!
I am taking away how important it is for me to take time to pause regularly.. A lot to reflect on! Thank you for sharing this wisdom with our Leading Women In Technology leadership cohort.”
Katie, Leadership Program Cohort Member

“Taking time to reflect on our year put us in such a positive perspective.
The gift of time, reflection, and self-appreciation gave us space to share what we’re proud of achieving, relieving that self-inflicted sense that we’re always behind.
As the leaders who rarely get a opportunity to have meaningful personal conversations with each other, we realized how similar many of our challenges are — we’re all juggling so much. That shared understanding created connection, compassion, and encouragement we didn’t even know we needed.”

Different Ways We Can Work with You
The Power Pause Cyclical Planning & Wellbeing Methodology was born from our shared passion to bridge creativity and productivity, intellect and intuition — bringing a more human, holistic, and practical way of planning into how people and teams work… that could actually create sustainable success.
Developed and refined over more than a decade, this proprietary system has been tested within organizations and groups of all kinds — from teams, leadership programs, and ERGs to professional associations, nonprofits, and creative communities — across industries including business, technology, finance, entertainment, media, retail, healthcare, education, and the arts.
Christine Arylo, MBA brings the strategic leadership, planning expertise, and human-centered systems design behind the Power Pause models. A transformational leadership advisor, teacher, and four-time author, she helps leaders and teams create new ways of working that generate meaningful results and sustainable success.
Katherine Torrini brings the visual magic and strategic creativity that bring Power Pauses to life. As a visual facilitator, illustrator, and creative catalyst, she helps people think and collaborate in new ways — using art and imagination to make strategy visible and inspire connection, insight, and action.
