Today is the international Self Love Day. I created it 12 years ago to bring awareness to self-love in a way that made it real, tangible and practical to what you are facing in your life today (not fluff.) Because self-love, or the lack of it, is at the root of every choice we make, and the children we love make. But few people really know what self-love is, and how to apply it to their lives. We cannot guide and model for others what we do not embody deeply ourselves.
Loving yourself is not just a meme or a #.
It's not narcissism.
And Do I Love Myself? is not a yes/no question.
Self love is a life long path, practice and choice.
There are 10 parts of self-love that a person needs to cultivate a strong inner foundation and sense and acceptance of self.
Self esteem is just 1/10th.
And you cannot access love from the mind. You have to get into the heart.
What do you 'do' on self love day?
you take a pause and check in with yourself, to see where your inner foundation needs strengthening, and then make a promise to yourself you'll keep all year that will grow that part of your self-love.
